Assistant Professor – Fine Arts & Visual Communications
Developed and launched a new degree program in Visual Communication – Graphic Design Option. Introduced three new certificate programs, including Animation / Hypermedia, Illustration, and Graphic Design. Educated students on Adobe PhotoShop 6.0 / 7.0, PageMaker 6.5, Illustrator 8.0, and FrontPage 2002 on both PC and Mac platforms.
- Served on Collegian Centers Development Committee responsible for establishing a new collegian center for the humanities to celebrate the community of art, communication, English, language studies, music, philosophy, and theater.
- Mentored assigned CollegianCenter honor students with career development and educational enrichment through mini workshops, portfolio development, student forums, field trips, guest lectures, art exhibits, theater productions, music recitals, and job fairs.
- Participated on Digital Imaging 151 Course Assessment Committee
- Designed and taught new online courses for Introduction to Art 101 for six semesters.
- Devised group projects for Design 101 and Digital Imaging 151 based on Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser, 2002, for a college-wide program to integrate literature across the disciplines. Both projects were presented in student art show and won awards.
- Participated on “Who Are the Artists?” panel, consisting of professionals in the fields of art, science, and philosophy to discuss cross-discipline approaches to teaching and learning. This panel represented one of six that aired on local television throughout Washington, DC, Spring 2002.

Developed and implemented curriculum to introduce the theories and creation of multimedia, using a variety of software applications. Teach both the aesthetic and technical aspects of multimedia design and production. Introduce students to Web production and business processes behind multimedia, dividing students into teams to produce Web-based products. Provide instructions on how to use software applications, including Macromedia Dreamweaver, Flash, and Adobe Photoshop./p>
