CALL FOR EVIRONMENTALLY THEMED ART THUMBPRINT: OUR 'PRINT' ON THE ENVIRONMENT The Red Caboose Gallery is seeking artwork that possesses or infers the characteristics associated with our mark left on the environment. However you interpret this may it be positive or negative is left to the artist.  Artwork that shows a message, theme, feeling, anything to show a change in our environment is welcome. See the below prospectus for details.

Entry Form

Eligibility: Artworks should address the issue of environmental consciousness. All artists must be 18 years of age or older. Any traditional or nontraditional two dimensional or three dimensional medium or style, including but not limited to painting,drawing, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture and digital media may be submitted. Work must be current since 2008.

Jurors: Cathy Wilkin & Donald P. Depuydt, Professor Fine Arts, NVCC

Dimensions: works must not be larger than 40" x 60"

Entry Fee: $25 nonrefundable fee for 1-2 entries, $35 for 3-4 entries, and $5 for each additional entry.

Entry: Up to 6 pieces of artwork may be submitted for consideration. All entries must be submitted as jpegs. Email jpgs to: Giovanna Bargh.

Each entry must correspond with entries listed on entry form. Do not send images depicting “detail” of 2D work. Each three dimensional work may be represented by up to three images. Acceptable image file is jpeg or pdf. DO NOT send submission images embedded in, or as a part of, any type of presentation, page layout, or graphic design program such as: Microsoft Powerpoint, Quark Xpress, Adobe InDesign, CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, etc. We cannot accept such submissions.

Accepted Work: Artists will be responsible for delivery of work to and from Vienna, Virginia. All artwork must be ready for display/hanging. The artist is responsible for any insurance on his/her work during transit and exhibition. (While excellent security is in place and utmost care is given to all entries, the Red Caboose Gallery does not assume any liability for damage or loss before, during or after an exhibition.) Artwork may be hand-delivered or shipped.

Artwork that is shipped to the exhibition must be accompanied by a prepaid shipping label for return to the artist. Prepaid UPS, FEDEX and Airborne Express labels will be accepted. Do not send checks for postage. Hand delivered & shipped entries not picked up within 30 days of the last day of the show will become the property of the Red Caboose Gallery.

Awards: First Place Solo Show, Second Third and Fourth Place will be together in a group show.  Awards will be presented at the opening reception. Images on CD will be used for jurying show acceptance only.

Sales: A 30% commission on all exhibition sales will be deducted. Any work not priced will be considered Not For Sale. Note: The price submitted on Juried Show Registration Form (below) will be the price represented at the time of the show if work is accepted.

Agreement: Submission of jpegs and/or works to this exhibition constitutes agreement on the part of the artist to all terms and conditions of this prospectus, which includes the right of the Red Caboose Gallery to use entries for publicity.
